1 Dottie
and Buzz
Publisher: Channel Four
Summary: This bright and colourful website supports children
learning about what it means to belong. It complements a series of Channel Four
programmes suitable for key stage 1. The first programme is 'Belonging'. The
corresponding web page provides a range of interactive games, songs and
worksheets that encourage children to think about ways in which they belong.
The third programme is devoted to baptism and possesses a similar range of
activities that addresses the importance of initiation ceremonies. The strong
visual content is appealing to all children but is particularly suited to EAL
and SEN children. The worksheets are well presented and each page has a
comprehensive set of teacher’s notes which provide a range of extension
activities. It would be preferable to use this page in conjunction with viewing
the television programmes and you will need Flash and Shockwave for the
interactive activities.
